Another Word for Childhood
A series of diptychs (two images meant to be paired) to depict a memory and a moment.
These are self-portraits, not directly of myself but of an emotional landscape growing up, moments that brought wonder and solitude into my life growing up as an only child. This project is a personal archive of memories I still carry from my childhood, born from the longing for simpler times when I would sit in my living room or backyard. Honoring the conversations and moments that took place in these environments allowed me to explore the bittersweet feelings that came with nostalgia; the ache for what once was and the beauty of remembering things that got overlooked.
